Bernice M. Veenstra's Obituary
Bernice Marion Veenstra, age 84, of Grand Haven passed away Tuesday, May 30, 2006, in Zeeland. She was born December 7, 1921 to Joseph “Sky” and Henrietta (Holman) Swartz in Grand Haven, MI. Bernice was preceded in death by her husband, Sidney Veenstra, in 1983.
Bernice moved to Grand Haven from Grand Rapids in 2002. She was active in the Shawnee Park Christian Reformed Church Guild in Grand Rapids.
Survivors include her daughter Pat (George Gordon) Mikesell of Grand Haven; son Wesley (Cindy) Mikesell of Grand Rapids; 2 grandchildren, Lewis Smalligan and Meagan Williamson; and 3 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son Todd Mikesell and sister Virginia Hooker.
A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 6th, at VanZantwick Bartels Kammeraad Funeral Home in Grand Haven with Rev. Benjamin Van Arragon officiating.
