Mr Bert Lavern Brooks Jr.'s Obituary
Mr. Bert L. Brooks Jr., age 76, passed away after a long battle with cancer, surrounded by his family on February 6, 2015. He was born on December 31, 1938 to Bert Sr. and Eliza Brooks. Bert served his country in the US Army. He married the former Glenda MacLean in 1964 and together they were blessed with 3 children. Bert had many jobs throughout his life. He was most proud of his work as a painter in the auto body field. Bert enjoyed going to the casino, dancing, and fishing. Most important to him though was always his family. He was a giving, loving, honest, outgoing, genuine husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will be deeply missed. He is survived by his wife of 50 years Glenda; children Ken (Dawn) Brooks, Kimberly (Charles) Noyes, and Scott (Sue) Brooks; 9 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; brothers, Jim (Jeane), Bobby (Patty) and David; sisters, Juanita, Ethel (Bob) Donna, Judy (Scott), Violet; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jerry; and sister Ada. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held at 11AM on Wednesday February 11, 2015 at The Sytsema Chapel 737 Apple Ave. 231-726-5210. VISITATION will be held on Tuesday from 5-7pm. Memorial contributions can be made to Harbor Hospice.
