Bertha "Bertie" D. McCrea's Obituary
Mrs. Bertha “Bertie” D. McCrea, age 100, was called to join her Lord and Savior on Friday, January 16, 2015 at her home. She was born on May 24, 1914 in North Muskegon to Claude and Bertha (Christophersen) Miller. Bertha was a member of Samuel Lutheran Church and enjoyed gardening and farming, crafting including ceramic painting, fishing, bowling and her cats. She will be remembered for her independent and outspoken spirit. On September 4, 1934, she married John McCrea and he preceded her in death on October 18, 1986. Bertha was also preceded in death by 3 sisters, Alda Miller, Nellie Mattfolk, Marjorie Hiza; and 2 brothers, Claude Miller and Warner Miller. Aunt Bertie is survived by many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be 11:00 AM Friday, January 23 at Samuel Lutheran Church (540 Houston) with Pastor Marcy Miller officiating. Burial will take place in Laketon Twp. Cemetery.
