Mrs. Bertha Workman's Obituary
Mrs. Bertha Workman, age 93, went to be with her Lord, and to be reunited with her husband Sunday afternoon, March 10, 2013 in Muskegon, with her family at her bedside. She was born January 18, 1920 to Andrew and Gertrude (Tillema) Fielstra in Muskegon, lived all of her life in the Muskegon area. Bertha was a member of Fifth Reformed Church, and previously of First Christian Reformed Church. On October 6, 1939 she married Albert A. Workman, and he preceded her in death on October 21, 2007. SURVIVORS include one daughter, Ruthann (Edward) Sterenberg of Muskegon; two grandchildren, Deborah and Donald; one sister, Donna Marie Strobridge; and a special care-giver, Christy Brown. She was also preceded in death by her parents; and one sister, Alice Wolffis. The family would like to give a special thanks to the employees and caregivers of Grace Hospice. THE FUNERAL SERVICE for Bertha will be 11:00 AM Thursday at Fifth Reformed Church, 2330 Holton Rd., with Rev. Paul Burmeister officiating. Burial will take place at Oakwood Cemetery. VISITATION at The Sytsema Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 737 Apple Ave. (231) 726-5210 will be from 5-7 PM Wednesday, and one hour prior to the service at church.
