Bertha May Cox's Obituary
Mrs. Bertha “May” Cox, age 64, died Saturday morning, November 8, 2003, in Muskegon. She was born August 27, 1939 in Marilla Twp., Manistee, MI to LaVerne & Ellen (Burkett) Gannon and then at the age of 7 moved to the Muskegon area, where she has since resided. May had been employed as a cashier at the “76” gas station on Sherman. She was married to Donald Cox, Sr. and he preceded her in death in 1991. She was also preceded in death by her son, Donald, Jr. in 1964 and by her parents, brother, John and sister, Norma Eileen Larabee. SURVIVORS include 2 daughters, Dawn (William) Leach and Sue (Kenneth) Hartel III, both of Muskegon; 5 grandchildren; Richard, Danielle & Patricia Hitsman, Kodi & Kori Hartel; 1 great-grandson, Shad Pike; 1 sister, Marjie Gannon; 6 brothers, Elmer Gannon of TN, Ernest (Wan) Gannon, Glenn (Bonnie) Gannon, Guy (Susan) Gannon, James (Margy) Gannon and Gary Gannon, all of Muskegon; and by many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
