Bertine B. Bouwman's Obituary
Mrs. Bertine B. Bouwman, age 92, died Tuesday morning, March 21, 2006, in Muskegon. She was born January 26, 1914 in Van’s Harbor, MI to Lyle & Selina (Nault) Lancaster and has resided in the Muskegon area most of her life. Bertine was a member of Community United Methodist Church of North Muskegon and had previously been a member of the former First Reformed Church. Bertine enjoyed sewing and had worked at the Yankee Store and Paramount Dry Cleaners & Bridal Shop before retiring. On July 17, 1937 she married Andrew A. Bouwman and he preceded her in death on February 17, 1991. She was also preceded in death by her parents and 2 sisters, Dollena and Pearl. SURVIVORS include 2 children, Linda Bouwman of Muskegon, Steven Bouwman and friend John Mercer, also of Muskegon. SERVICES will be 1 PM Friday at Sytsema Funeral Home, 737 Apple Avenue, Muskegon, MI 49442 (231-726-5210). with Pastor Glenn M. Wagner officiating. Burial will be in Sunrise Memorial Gardens. VISITATION with Bertine’s family will be 7-9PM Thursday. MEMORIAL GIFTS to Hospice of Muskegon -Oceana will be appreciated.
