Bessie A. Bennett's Obituary
Mrs. Bessie A. Bennett, age 87, passed away Tuesday, November 30, 2010 in Muskegon. She was born in Ravenna Township on April 17, 1923 to William and Bernice (Abbott) Conran and was a life-long resident of the area. Mrs. Bennett was a member of Ravenna Baptist Church for over 25 years. She enjoyed crafts, decorating and crocheting. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother and enjoyed taking care of her family. On October 3, 1959, Bessie married Russell A. Bennett in Muskegon and he preceded her in death on April 13, 1991. She is survived by 5 children, Kenneth W. (Diane) Berry, Wanda (Robert) Kanaar, Donna Hills, Frances (LeVoy) Dake and Darlene (Robert) Paquin; 1 daughter-in-law, Sue Bennett; 16 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great grandchildren; 1 sister, Lilly Drake and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by 2 sons, Ronald Alfred Berry and Owen Bennett; a grandson, Russell Dake; 1 great-granddaughter, Leah Stoffer; 1 brother, William Conran and 4 sisters, Alice Hill, Mary Minyard, Iva Ellecy and Anna Belle Raap. SERVICES will be 1:00 PM Saturday at Ravenna Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Wetzig officiating. VISITATION will be from 6:00 – 8:00 PM Friday at The Sytsema Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 737 Apple Ave. 231-726-5210 and 1 hour prior to the service at the church. INTERMENT will be in Ravenna Cemetery. MEMORIALS in Mrs. Bennett’s name may be made to the Ravenna Baptist Church or the American Cancer Society.
