Bessie B. Englund's Obituary
Mrs. Bessie B. Englund, age 87, passed away Saturday morning, January 3, 2004 at her home. She was born November 12, 1916 in Muskegon, MI to Guy E. and Lucy A. (Raeth) Bates and had lived in the area her entire life. On October 6, 1934, she married Stanley O. Englund and he preceded her in death on October 5, 1990. She was a member of Grace Memorial Baptist Church and had been active in starting the Greenridge Christian Reformed Church. SURVIVORS include 4 children, Betty L. (Art) Hughey and Nancy L. Postema of North Muskegon, Stanley R. (Sue) Englund of Caledonia and Delores M. (Wilson) Seabolt of North Muskegon; 17 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren; 1 sister, Yvonne (Charles) Burgess of Muskegon Heights. She was also preceded in death by 1 son-in-law, Donald Postema, her parents, 1 brother, Kenneth Knoll, and 1 sister, Evelyn Sparbell. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, January 7, 2004 at the Sytsema Funeral Home, 737 Apple Avenue, (231) 726-5210, with the Rev. John A. Frank officiating. INTERMENT will take place at Laketon Township Cemetery. VISITATION with Bessie’s family will be 2-4 and 6-8 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS may be made to Hospice of Fremont.
