Bessie Mae Palmer-Bryant's Obituary
Ms. Bessie Mae Palmer-Bryant, age 58, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, February 5, 2009 in Greenville, SC. She was born October 3, 1950 in Sunflower, MS to William T. and Beatrice (Palmer) Bryant and lived in the Muskegon area most of her life. She worked as a Certified Nurses Aide at the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans for several years. Bessie was an active member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church (Pastor W. Ben Harris). Bessie was also a Certified Foster Mother and had taken in over 15 children in need of care during her 20 years fostering. SURVIVORS include 4 children, Anthony Wayne Bryant, Vontrese (Bryant) Briggs, Wynette L. Bryant, and Shantana Monique Palmer; 2 special children, Denise Palmer and Shakir Malone; 6 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; her mother, Ms. Beatrice Bryant; 2 brothers and 4 sisters; and a host of other close relatives and friends. Bessie was preceded in death by her father, William T. Bryant in 1993. FUNERAL SERVICES will be held 11:00 AM Friday at The Lee Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 6291 S. Harvey St. (231) 798-1100 with Pastor W. Ben Harris officiating. INTERMENT will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. CALLING HOURS will be 2-8 PM Thursday with the family visitation beginning at 6:00 PM for a time of special remarks and words of expressions from family and friends.
