Mrs. Betty A. Emlaw's Obituary
Mrs. Betty A. Emlaw, 97, passed away Thursday afternoon, February 15, 2018, in Allegan. She was born December 26, 1920 in Muskegon, and was a lifelong resident. Betty was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, and when she was able enjoyed gardening, taking care of her home, and visiting with her friends. On April 11, 1942 she married Edmund J. Emlaw, and he preceded her in death on June 12, 2004. Survivors include her daughter: Janis (Larry) Carvey; 4 grandchildren: Kristy Carvey, Kelly (Chris) Mundt, Daniel Emlaw, Joshua Emlaw; great grandchildren: Sophia Emlaw, Jalen Burks, Benjamin, Alyson and Josalyn Mundt. She was also preceded in death by 2 sons: James and Thomas Emlaw; 2 sisters: Mary Chamberlin and Gizella Alex; and a step-sister: Rosemary Potter. The funeral service for Mrs. Emlaw will be Thursday, February 22, at 1:00 PM at The Walburn Chapel, 1547 W. Sherman Blvd., (231) 759-8565, with Pastoral Minister Dominic Couturier presiding. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service. Interment will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery. You may visit the family’s online guestbook at www.sytsemafh.com.
