Mrs. Betty Jean Gilbert's Obituary
Betty Jean Gilbert, age 73, passed away on November 19, 2016. Betty was born in 1943 and her and her 2 sisters where raised by their parents Penny and Carl Shue. Betty was blessed with 3 daughters in her life. She enjoyed dancing, crafts, shopping, and riding motorcycles. The most important thing though to Betty was always her family. She was a generous, selfless, quick-witted woman who will be deeply missed. She is SURVIVED by 2 daughters, Sandi (John) Bordeaux and Sheryl (Rich) Chase; grandchildren, David (Christine) Bowen, Jeff (Gloria) Bowen, Melissa (Joe) Drake, Kevin Chase and Kyle Chase; great-grandchildren, Ty, Skylie, Landon, Jack, Riley and Brayden; sister, Phyllis McCann; best friend, Betty Davis, and cat Harley. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Green; and then husband of 30 years, Paul Gilbert; daughter, Carol; parents, Penny and Carl Shue; biological father, Francis Boynton; and sister, Suzanne Jones. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held at 4pm on Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at THE LEE CHAPEL 6291 S. Harvey St. 231-798-1100. VISITATION will be held 1 hour prior to the start of the service. Memorial contributions can be made to Great Lakes Caring Hospice.
