Betty A. Havermans' Obituary
Mrs. Betty A. Havermans, age 93, passed away May 2, 2023, in Muskegon. She was born in Muskegon to Cornelius and Elizabeth (Stuivenga) Rop and was a lifelong resident. Betty was a 1948 graduate of Muskegon High School. In 1989, after 41 years of service, she retired from Hackley-Comerica bank as an assistant Branch Manager. She was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church. On May 29, 1971, she married August Havermans and he preceded her in death on May 15, 2004. Survivors include three children: Douglas (Becki) Havermans, Sandra (Ronald) Werner, Linda Sokolowski; daughter-in-law Lois Havermans; grandchildren: Audra (Gary) Johnson, Brennan Havermans, Monica (Matt) Beilfuss, Kevin Sokolowski, Jennifer (Cory) Makowski, Christine (Jordan) Becklin, Brian Werner, Kelley Werner, Heather (Nick) Havermans, Joshua Havermans, and Jessee Prester; great-grandchildren: Charlotte, Charley, Kelliana, Macynn, Isley, Hayden, Poppy, and William. She was also preceded in death by four children: Terry Havermans, Nancy Perry, Theodore Havermans, and James Havermans. A private family service will be held, with burial taking place at Mona View Cemetery. Contributions in memory of Mrs. Havermans may be made to the Harbor Hospice Foundation. Arrangements have been entrusted to The Walburn Chapel of Sytsema Funeral and Cremation Services, 1547 W. Sherman Blvd., Muskegon, MI 49441.
