Betty Pearl Johnson's Obituary
Mrs. Betty Johnson, age 88, of Fruitport, passed away Friday, November 9, 2018 at home. She was born February 3, 1930 in Muskegon to Venson and Esther (Wise) Wellman. On February 27, 1948 she married Eugene Johnson in Grand Haven.
Betty was a wonderful, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to all who knew her. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, picking cherry’s and going bowling with her husband. Betty will be very missed.
She is survived by her husband of over 70 years, Eugene; four siblings: Judy Johnson of Grand Haven, Lois (Joe) Johnson-Watts of Fruitport, Denny (Ronda) Johnson of Fruitport and Richard (Jenny) Johnson of Fruitport; eleven grandchildren; twenty eight great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Edward Johnson; daughter, Josephine Augustson; great-grandson, Damon Summerville; three brothers; and one sister.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at The VanZantwick Chapel (620 Washington Ave.) with Rev. Jeff Elzinga officiating. Visitation will be 5-7 PM Monday, November 12, 2018 at the funeral home. Interment will take place in Spring Lake Township Cemetery.
