Betty Joyce Kingshott's Obituary
Betty Joyce Kingshott, age 99, passed away Thursday, April 24, 2025 at Trinity Health – Muskegon Campus. Betty was born August 10, 1925 in Muskegon to Frank A. and Daisy M. (Wood) Clark and lived all her life in the area. On August 30, 1947, she married Lyle R. Kingshott in Muskegon and he preceded her in death on April 8, 2017 after nearly 70 years of marriage. During WWII, Betty served as one of the “Rosie the Riveter” ladies. Betty worked as an assembler for Michigan Plastics and retired in 1981. Survivors include 5 children, Linda Cribley, Judy (Dan) Jayne, Bruce (Marion) Kingshott, Jeffrey (Young) Kingshott, Shelley (Lary) Black; 9 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Lyle Kingshott; her parents; 1 brother, Leonard Clark and 3 sisters, Clover Clark, Maxine Lutz, and Frances DeWolfe. A Funeral Service will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, April 30, 2025 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 Harvey St, Norton Shores, MI 49444. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Wednesday. Interment will take place at Mona View Cemetery. The family requests no flowers or plants, but that donations be made to the Big Lake Humane Society (www.biglakehumane.org) or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (www.stjude.org).
