Betty A. LaMadline's Obituary
Betty A. LaMadline, age 95, passed away peacefully on Saturday May 9, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on November 10, 1930, to John and Opal (Snyder) See in Grand Rapids, MI. Betty graduated from Union High School, Class of 1948. In June of 1955, she married the love of her life, Lewis LaMadline, in Grand Haven. Together they shared 25 wonderful years filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories before Lewis preceded her in death in 1980. Betty had a lifelong passion for music and was a talented musician, specializing in both the saxophone and clarinet. Music brought her great joy, and she loved sharing that passion with her children throughout their lives. She also enjoyed crossword puzzles, punch embroidery, and spending time watching her favorite game shows on the Game Show Network. Betty had a fond love for collecting Betty Boop memorabilia and treasured the joy it brought her throughout the years. Above all else, Betty treasured the time she spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who lovingly knew her as “Gram.” She was known for her easygoing nature, kind heart, and the warm smile that could light up any room. Betty will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her. She is survived by her five children, Lonnie (Robin) LaMadline, Allen LaMadline, Tammy (Frank) Domin, Jeff (Alissia) LaMadline and Cindy (Jeff) Looman; two stepchildren, Sally (Keith) and Linda; daughters-in-law, Diane LaMadline and Marcia LaMadline numerous grandchildren; many great and great-great-grandchildren; and cherished friends. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, John (Opal) See; husband, Lewis LaMadline; son, John LaMadline; five stepchildren, Louise, Ed, Ron, Don and Gene; and two brothers, Jim See and John See. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, May 18, 2026, at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444 with visitation from 10-11:00 AM. Memorial Contributions in Betty’s honor can be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
