Betty Gorham Megahy's Obituary
Mrs. Betty Gorham Megahy, age 94, of Grand Haven passed away Monday, August 19, 2013 at home. She was born September 27, 1918 in Grand Rapids to Edwin and Frieda (Colby) Gorham and has lived all over the country - Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo, San Diego, CA, Leander, TX and back to Grand Haven.
Betty always enjoyed reading, but her passion was cooking and making sure her presentation was perfect for all of her family and friends.
She is survived by 3 children: Ruthann Bosworth, of Grand Haven, Julene Hartman of Grand Haven, and Dan (Nan) Verwoert of Thailand; 6 grandchildren: Matthew (Pam) Hartman, Michael (Junko) Hartman, Melissa (Jayk) Hernandez, Heather, Dan Jr., and David Verwoert; 11 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; former daughter-in-law, Mary Berrevoets; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter, MaryLynne; husband, Robert Megahy; former husband, Arnold Verwoert; 3 sisters; 1 bother.
A family memorial service will take place next summer. Interment will take place in Greenwood Cemetery in Grand Rapids. Memorial contributions in memory of Betty may be given to a charity of your choice. Please sign the family’s online guest book at www.vbkfuneralhome.com.
