Betty J. Mosher's Obituary
Mrs. Betty Jean Mosher passed away suddenly on Saturday, February 19, 2022, just one day shy of her 78th birthday. She was born to Peter and Mae (Wierema) Start in Muskegon on February 20, 1944. A lifelong resident of the area, Betty married the love of her life, Gary Mosher on December 10, 1963. The two shared 58 wonderful years of marriage together while raising their four children. Betty enjoyed taking trips to the casinos, knitting, crocheting, and was an animal lover. Most importantly was her family. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and watching them in their various school and sports events. Betty always made sure to have lots of food (especially sweets!) at the many family gatherings over the years. She was a wonderful and caring wife, mom, grandma, and great-grandma and will be missed by her husband, Gary; children, Brenda Morse, Kevin (Kristy) Mosher, and Paula (Phil) Durek; grandchildren, Peter Mosher, Joe Mosher, Trevor (Dani) Mosher, Kyle Mosher, Ally Mosher, Courtney (Robert) McCarthy, Joshua Morse, Jacob Mosher, Hunter Mosher, Ashleigh Durek, Nicholas Durek, and Alexis Durek; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Gary Mosher Jr; parents; and siblings, James Start and Joann Merriman. A Visitation will take place Monday, February 28 from 5-7PM at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444. A Family Graveside Service will be held at Egelston Twp. Memorial contributions in Betty’s memory may be directed to American Cancer Society or Noah’s Project.
