Mrs. Betty Louise Pickett's Obituary
Mrs. Betty Louise Pickett, age 93, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Monday afternoon, October 24, 2016. Betty was born July 8, 1923 in Muskegon Heights to Clifford and Sena (Bolthouse) Myers. On June 5, 1942, she married Merlin “Jack” Pickett and he preceded Betty in death on January 1, 1994. On July 3, 2006, she married Robert Cole and he survives her. Betty was a wonderful homemaker and gardener, as well as being very artistic; working in pen and pencil, acrylics, and sculpturing. She had also worked at the Norge for 20 years, and later Story and Clarke; retiring in 1984. Betty had attended Covenant Community Church. Betty is also survived by her children, Daniel (Sandy) Pickett, Tim Pickett, Patricia (Terry) Disney, and Nancy Pickett, 15 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband Jack, Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter, Sally Wright; grandson, Ethan Wiersma; brothers, John and Richard Myers; sister, Helen Miller; and best friend and neighbor, Bea Lavender. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 11 AM Saturday, October 29, 2016, at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St. 231-798-1100 with Rev. Miriam Bush officiating. VISITATION will be one hour prior to the service (10-11 AM). Burial will take place at Mona View Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the Muskegon Rescue Mission.
