Betty G. Pressler's Obituary
Mrs. Betty G. Pressler, age 88, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, March 9, 2015. She was born on October 2, 1926 in Fostoria, OH to Charles and Caroline (Rounds) Haines, and resided in the Muskegon area most of her life. Betty was a member of Fruitport Congregational Church, and enjoyed her church family very much. She worked at GTE for 21 years before retiring in 1982. Betty volunteered at Hackley Hospital for 28 years. She also volunteered at the Red Cross, and was a former Girl Scout and Brownie Leader. Betty loved being a part of her neighborhood ladies “Coffee Clutch” for over 50 years. She also enjoyed square dancing and bowling with her husband. On July 6, 1946 she married George Pressler, Sr., and he preceded her in death on December 6, 2012. SURVIVORS include 5 children, Pamela (Michael) Harrison, Susan (Gery) Pope, George (Susan) Pressler, Jr., Cynthia Thoma, and Gregory (Nancy) Pressler; 15 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. Betty was also preceded in death by 2 sisters, Thelma Vanderstelt and Eilene Hill; and her brother, Charles “Raymond” Haines. The FUNERAL SERVICE will be 11AM Saturday at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St. (231) 798-1100 with Pastor Don Wood officiating. VISITATION with Betty’s family will be 5-8PM Friday and 1 hour prior to the service, from 10-11AM. Burial will take place in Sunrise Memorial Gardens on Monday. Memorial Contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association in memory of her husband, George H. Pressler, Sr. will be appreciated.
