Mrs. Betty J. Richardson's Obituary
Mrs. Betty Jean Richardson, age 86, passed away surrounded by the love of her family, Tuesday evening, March 20, 2012. She was born May 2, 1925 to Robert A. and Hattie (Gladson) Blakley in Indianapolis, IN and moved to Muskegon at age 17. Betty was married to William V. Richardson on February 15, 1947, who preceded her in death in 1995. She retired after 29 years from Howmet/Misco, was a member of Lakeside United Methodist Church, and enjoyed Saturday morning coffee with family in her home. Betty loved nature, gardening, and sharing the vegetables from her garden with the Lakeside community. She is SURVIVED by her daughters, Barbara (Edward) Bacheller of Muskegon, Bonnie (Stephen) Allard of Muskegon; sons, Bobbie (Lynn) Richardson of Muskegon, Bradley (Beth) Richardson of Fort Myers, FL; grandchildren, Blake Richardson, Brent Richardson, Suzann (Steve) Mullennix, Warren Bacheller, Heather (Steve) Danhof, Casey Allard, Matthew Allard, Tyler Richardson, Parker Richardson; 9 great grandchildren; 1 great, great granddaughter; and very special friend Steve Holdeman. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Margret “Peg” (Ken) Johnson, Hattie Florene “Toots” (Tom) Trudell; brother, Robert Blakley; sons, Blake L. Richardson in 1992, William “Billy” Richardson in 2008; and great grandson, Alexander Young in 2010. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at Lakeside United Methodist Church (2160 Crozier Avenue) with Rev. Steve Weinberger officiating. Interment will be in Lakeside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS may be made to Lakeside United Methodist Church or the charity closest to your heart.
