Betty L. (Rodgers) Kaber's Obituary
Betty Leona (Rodgers) Kaber, age 96, passed away peacefully at her home Friday, August 14, 2020. She had a loving beautiful soul and was born March 21, 1924 in Farwell, MI to Ike and Jenny (Badger) Rodgers. Betty was raised by her Uncle Walter and his wife, Olive (Jewett) Badger, who welcomed her into their home with open and loving arms. Betty married Raymond E. Kaber Sr. on July 4, 1942 in Farwell, and he preceded her in death on January 5, 1999. They had been longtime members of Laketon Bethel Reformed Church, where they were active in various ministries. Betty also sang in the choir and in the Northside Serenators. Betty’s first passion was caring for others, as she was a generous, compassionate, and selfless person who always put others first. Her greatest gift was her unconditional love for her entire family. She was also an accomplished seamstress and enjoyed cooking, which included many memorable dinners and baked goods for school, church, and family get-togethers. Her greatest joy, however, was spending time with her family, and nothing brought her more happiness – including family vacations up north and boating up to Mackinac Island, along with traveling to the West Coast. Betty liked to keep close ties with her grandchildren and their many accomplishments. They were all a blessing and filled her heart. She is survived by 2 sons and 4 daughters all of Muskegon: Raymond E. Kaber Jr., John (Rhonda) Kaber, Carolyn Klecka, Kathy Corinti, Margie Kaber, and Mary Raymond. She leaves behind many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents; 3 brothers: Clyde, Jack, and Don Rodgers; 5 sisters: Margaret Borst, Donna Croswhite, Opal Bistricky, Rose Perry, and Priscilla Graber. The family would like to give a heartfelt thank you to the nurses and staff at Harbor Hospice for the care she received during her final weeks at home. PRIVATE FAMILY SERVICES for Betty will be held. She will be laid to rest in Laketon Twp. Cemetery.
