Betty L. Schwing's Obituary
Betty Lou Schwing, age 70, passed away Friday afternoon, August 18, 2017. She was born September 13, 1946 in Muskegon to Clarence and Agnes (Dewind) Dykema. Betty had worked for Howmet for 30 years before retiring in 2008. On August 30, 1974, she married Jerry Schwing in Muskegon and he preceded her in death on June 17, 2017. Betty loved to read, tend to her flower garden, and go to the casino. She enjoyed taking trips and was a huge NASCAR fan, but most importantly, she loved spending time with her granddaughters. SURVIVORS include her daughter, Anne (David) Cook; 4 granddaughters: Kaylee, Kelsie, Karley, and Kambri; and her brother, Richard (Sally) Dykema. SERVICES for Betty will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at The Sytsema Chapel, 737 Apple Ave., (231) 726-5210 with Pastor Steve Ritzema officiating. VISITATION with the family will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place in Restlawn Cemetery. Memorials to the American Cancer Society will be appreciated.
