Betty Irene Sorensen's Obituary
Mrs. Betty I. Sorensen, age 87, passed away on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 in Muskegon. She was born on March 26, 1929 in Clay Center, KS to Osmer and Ella (Kulp) Young, and resided in the Muskegon area since she was two years old. Betty was an active member of Northside Bible Church. She enjoyed bowling, reading, cooking, her cats but most of all her family. On July 7, 1950, she married Louis Sorensen in Muskegon, and he preceded her in death on May 2, 2006. SURVIVORS include four children, Pam (Walter) Clark, Mark Sorensen, Diana (Stan) Strach, and Karen (Jerry) Keith all of Muskegon; nine grandchildren, Abe Clark, Liz (Mike) Szymanski, Hannah Clark, Daniel Clark, Andrew Clark, Staci (John) Klooster, Kristi Keith, Courtney Strach, Brittany Strach; and six great grandchildren, Keira, Alexandra, Jayden, Aslynn, Audrey, Caroline. Betty was also preceded in death by two sons, David and Douglas Sorensen; three infant sons; and three brothers, Clark, Paul, and Ralph Young. FUNERAL SERVICES will be 1PM Friday, March 10, 2017 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St. (231) 798-1100 with Rev. Lowell Wood officiating. VISITATION with the family will be prior to the service, from 11:30 AM – 1 PM. Burial will take place in Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
