Betty J. Heykoop's Obituary
Mrs. Betty J. Heykoop, age 77, left peacefully from this world into the loving arms of Jesus in Heaven where she lives today. Mrs. Heykoop was born August 23, 1929 to Cornelius and Anna (Weesies) Zuidema in Muskegon. On October 13, 1950, she married Gerald E. “Jerry” Heykoop and together they started and owned Radio Shack in Whitehall. Betty was a loving wife, dedicated mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who loved children, caring for her home and working in her garden. She volunteered her time and talents at her church, Bethany Christian Reformed, and at the Frauenthal Center for the Performing Arts. Betty is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Jerry; her children, Ken Heykoop of Thailand, Sally (Dave) Wagenmaker of Muskegon, Peggy (Kelly) Drake of N. Muskegon and Terry (Leanne) Heykoop of Fremont; 9 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; 4 brothers, Herm (Betty) Zuidema, Ron (Ardyce) Zuidema, Dan Zuidema and Doug (Jan) Zuidema; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; infant daughter, Bonnie Heykoop; and brother, Alfred Zuidema. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 11:00 AM Monday, May 21, 2007 at Bethany Christian Reformed Church with Rev. David Sieplinga officiating. Burial will take place at Restlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, 2-5 PM at
