Betty Jean Anderson's Obituary
Mrs. Betty Jean Anderson, age 85, of Norfolk, Virginia, formerly of Grand Haven passed away Thursday February 23, 2012 after losing a valiant fight with Alzheimer’s. She was born October 27, 1926 in Grand Haven to David and Bertha (Thomas) Nuvill.
Betty was a member of the Grand Haven Church of the Nazarene where she was a member of the choir and truly enjoyed singing and praising her Father above, but most of all she loved her family. Even as Alzheimer’s robbed her of her present, she could always make you smile with antics and stories of her past.
On February 14, 1976, she married Conrad Anderson in Grand Haven and preceded her in death on August 4, 1983. She is survived by Suzanne (Terry) Studabaker of Nunica, Rochelle ("Shelley" Secor-Taylor, William) of Norfolk, Virginia and John Secor Jr. of Winter Springs, Florida. She left behind 8 grandchildren and 12 Great Grandchildren; one sister Maxine Foster of Grand Haven. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Geraldine Keech and brothers Robert and Donald Nuvill. The family would like to say a special thank you to Interim Home Health and Hospice care of Norfolk, VA. She had 3 very special nurses Tammy Bodie, Kelli Merz and Maelin which provided great comfort, love and support.
The memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, March 3, 2012 at Grand Haven Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Doug McVay officiating. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will take place in Lakeshore Cemetery. Memorial contributions in memory of Betty may be given to the Alzheimer's Association (www.alz.org) or Grand Haven Church of the Nazarene.
