Mrs. Beverley Booker Kretchmar's Obituary
Mrs. Beverley Stuart Booker Kretchmar, age 86, died Wednesday, June 27, 2018, at her home. Beverley was born November 11, 1931 in Nashville, TN to Stuart and Hazel (Smith) Randolph Booker. On April 6, 1951, she married James Lauran Kretchmar in Ann Arbor, MI and he preceded her in death on September 5, 2009. Beverley worked for Combined Insurance as a consultant for over twenty years, retiring in 2008. She was a longtime member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Muskegon and had been active in both the Junior League of Chicago and Flint. She had also served on the Hackley Hospital Auxiliary Board for many years. Beverley was an avid University of Michigan football fan and enjoyed playing bridge with her friends. She loved to water ski in her younger years and spend much time with her husband boating, following the sun and enjoying the adventure of the great loop. The love of family was most important in Beverley’s life, and her memory will be cherished by her children, Stuart Randolph (Cheryl Berman) Kretchmar of Willmette, IL, The Rev. Lauran (Fred Hansen) Pifke of Anchorage, AK, Cary Kretchmar Johnson of Nashville, TN, and Michel Kretchmar (Greg) Schoonover of Northbrook, IL; 8 grandchildren Savana (Adam) VonFeldt, Samuel Kretchmar, James (Joseph Jose’ Molina) Kretchmar, David Pifke, Michael Pifke, Elizabeth (Joshua) Hodes, Eric (Kelly) Schoonover and Katherine (Erik) Abraham; 9 great- grandchildren; and 2 nieces. Beverley was also preceded in death by her sister, Nancy Booker Collins. A Memorial Service will be held at 12 Noon Saturday, July 21, 2018 at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 1006 Third St. in Muskegon. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Paul’s Episcopal Church or Hospice of Michigan. Share memories with Beverley’s family at her online guestbook at www.sytsemafh.com.
