Beverly Kalsbeek Bos' Obituary
Beverly Kalsbeek Bos, age 91, of Grand Haven passed away Friday, November 19, 2021, in South Haven. Beverly was born June 12, 1930, in Grand Haven to John D. and Anna (Mulder) VanderMeiden. She married Fred Kalsbeek on June 25, 1949, in Grand Haven, and he preceded her in death in August 1996. On December 5, 2004, she married John R. Bos, and he also preceded her in death November 2016.
Beverly was a 1948 graduate of Grand Haven High School then attended Wayne State Nursing school. She worked at NOCH Grand Haven for many years. She felt proud to work as a paraprofessional at the Ottawa Area Center with special needs students for many years. Beverly had also enjoyed working as a Hospice volunteer. Beverly was a member of All Shores Wesleyan Church in Spring Lake.
Her hobbies included working with flowers, playing Scrabble, knitting, riding her 3 wheel bike, bowling, travel, and spending time with her family. Baked oatmeal and ice cream were her favorites.
She is lovingly remembered by her three daughters: Kathy (Byron) Boyle of St. Joseph, MI, Connie (Bob) Bosch of Holiday, FL, and Nancy (Dale) Brown of Naples, FL; three sons: Rick (Kathleen) Kalsbeek of Newaygo, Jim (Sue) Kalsbeek of Grand Haven, and Dale Kalsbeek of Shelby; 19 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren. Beverly was preceded in death by a sister, Marian Straw; two brothers, Bob VanderMeiden and John VanderMeiden; and a grandson, Abraham Kalsbeek.
The funeral service for Beverly will take place at 11:00 AM Tuesday, November 23, 2021, at The VanZantwick Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 620 Washington Ave., Grand Haven, MI 49417. Visitation will be held 5-7 PM Monday, November 22, at the funeral home. Interment will take place in Lakeshore Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to Talking Bibles International, or to All Shores Wesleyan Church in Spring Lake - Missions. Please sign the family’s online guestbook at http://www.sytsemafh.com.
