Mrs. Beverly Jean Bringedahl's Obituary
Beverly Jean Bringedahl, age 87, passed away at home, Tuesday, August 4, 2020, after a brief illness, surrounded by her children. She was born on November 22, 1932 to Frank and Margaret (Parchert/Martin) Kieft in Imlay City, Michigan. She grew up in Muskegon Heights, graduating from Muskegon Heights High School, where she excelled in intramural basketball. She was married to her high school sweetheart Theodore W. Bringedahl, Sr. on December 30, 1950. She and Ted eventually settled in the Fruitport area where they raised a loving family of four children. Bev worked for American Coil Spring Company for 41 years, in the inspection department, until her retirement in 1997. After retirement Bev and Ted spent their time at their homes on Duck Lake in Whitehall and Zephyrhills, Florida. They were married for 52 years until Ted’s passing in 2003.She was a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church, and was a very active member of the Sons of Norway, where she served as Social Director for many years. She had many friends throughout her life, especially her Besties from the Whitehall area and friends from her days at American Coil Spring. She was also a member of the White Lake Eagles and the Zephyrhills Moose Lodge. Bev was an avid sports fan, and especially loved watching the Detroit Lions and Tigers. For her 80th birthday her children took her to watch the Lions play at Ford Field, which became an annual tradition with her family every fall after that. She is survived by her four children, Judith (David) Eskew of Whitehall, Sally (Mike) Mack, Theodore, Jr. (Linda) and Lawrence, all of Fruitport; ten grandchildren, Chief Petty Officer Jacob Eskew of Groton, CT, Kelly (Casey) Voron of Two Rivers, WI, Joshua Fri of Muskegon, Matthew (Melissa) Fri of Traverse City, Kate (Matthew) Dirkse of Grand Haven, Kelcie (Nick) Mashburn, Kara Hillstead, Kailee, Kristian and Kendra Bringedahl, all of Fruitport; 13 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law; Thomas (Dorly) Bringedahl, Robert (Jacqueline) Bringedahl, Dewey (Martha) Bringedahl, Beverly E. Bringedahl, Allen (Bonnie) Bringedahl, William (Jean) Bringedahl, Linda (Max) Borgeson, Steven (Judith) Bringedahl; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two brothers; Donald Kieft and Richard Harris; sister-in-law Pauline Poort; brothers-in-law, David and Joseph Bringedahl. Visitation (10 people at a time and masks are required) will be Friday, August 7, from 6-8 PM at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral and Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444. A private funeral service will be held. Contributions in memory of Mrs. Bringedahl may be made to First Evangelical Lutheran Church.
