Mrs. Beverly Rose Casadonte Richard Sherwood Hulbert's Obituary
Beverly Rose Casadonte, Richards, Sherwood, Hulbert, 83, of Sebring, Florida went home to be with her Lord on Friday, January 6, 2012 in Orlando, Florida. She was born on November 4, 1928, to Joseph John and Violet Pearl (Johnson) Casadonte in Muskegon, MI. Bev lived and worked most of her life in Muskegon and graduated Muskegon Heights High School in 1946. On November 13, 1948 she married Russell Donovan Richards and on June 14, 1974 she married Henry J. Sherwood. Bev retired in 1986 from Viking Foods as their first female Vice President and moved to Fountain, MI. Later, settling in Sebring, Florida, she married William Hulbert on June 22, 2004. Bev was baptized at Samuel Lutheran Church in Muskegon MI. and belonged to Sebring Church of the Brethren, Sebring, Florida.
Bev was an accomplished seamstress, sewing a lot of her children’s clothing when they were young. She had a love of fashion and also enjoyed knitting, cross-stitch, painting, golf, bowling, shuffleboard, camping, music and playing cards, especially with her granddaughters. Bev taught Sunday school and line dancing, was a Girl Scout leader, an avid reader, and lover of the outdoors.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Catherine “Cassie” Karafa, brother James Casadonte and husbands: Russell and Henry.
Beverly will be missed by her husband, William Hulbert, 4 children, Carol Richards, Russell (Jill Wiggins) Richards, Larry (Julie) Richards, and Penny (Paul) Salisz; 7 step children, Sherry Ward, Colleen (Les) Modrow, Bryce (Joy) Sherwood, Gary (Mary) Sherwood, Susan (Larry) Franks, Shryl (John) Lard and Jennifer (Doug) Forbes; 27 grandchildren, 48 great grandchildren with one on the way, and 1great great grandchild; her Aunt Rosie Nowiki, many in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Memorial Services for Bev will be on Saturday March 24, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at Samuel Lutheran Church, 540 Houston Ave. Muskegon MI 49441 with a luncheon to follow. Later that day she will be laid to rest in Lakeside Cemetery, Muskegon MI….just blocks from where she was born…..
