Beverly J. Kersting's Obituary
Beverly Jean Kersting, age 86, passed away at home and surrounded by family on Saturday, May 25, 2024. Beverly was born in Muskegon, MI, on September 6, 1937, to Andrew and Johanna (Broek) Schrier. She graduated from Muskegon High School and then went on to graduate from Hackley Nursing School. On August 7, 1959, she married Robert Kersting, and the two of them spent 64 wonderful years building their family together. She was a homemaker for most of her life but was also very proud of the seven years she spent as a registered nurse beforehand. Beverly loved to travel; she visited many places, including Hawaii, Germany, and Alaska, went on many cruises, and greatly enjoyed spending winters with Robert in Apache Junction, AZ. In her younger years she enjoyed bowling, and more recently she liked going camping with her family and spending time with her friends from TOPS. She also loved polka dancing, traveling to many different states over the years to see her favorite polka band. She volunteered her help whenever she could, whether it was helping with her children’s school events or serving as an election worker. More than anything she cherished spending time with her family. Beverly will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Robert Kersting; three children: Kimberly Kersting, Gary (Kathleen) Kersting, and Beth Norwick; six grandchildren: Andrew, Alexandra (Taylor), Abbigail, Annalei, Jorgan, and Jarrett; three great-grandchildren: Arabella, Jarrett, and Taylor; son in-law, David Norwick; brother in-law, Art Visser; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Johanna Schrier; sister, Nancy Visser; and niece, Vicki Turner.
A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be taking place for Beverly at 11:00 AM on Friday, June 7, 2024, at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 Harvey St, Norton Shores, MI, 49444, with VISITATION taking place an hour prior.
