Beverly Eva Lassa's Obituary
Beverly “Bev” Eva Lassa, age 92, passed away on November 28, 2020 at the Poppen Residence. She was born on November 1, 1928 to Hardy and Lurana (Bartlett) Twining in Rothbury, MI. On September 1, 1951 she married the love of her life, Gerald T. Lassa, and together they spent 68 happy years together until Jerry’s passing in March of 2020. Although she held a couple part time jobs once married, she devoted her time to raising her family: sewing, crocheting, gardening, canning, cooking and baking the best pies in the world; as well as caring for other family and friends. She used her sewing skills to make special ‘sunshine’ pillows and blankets for each of the grandkids and great grandkids when they were born. She was a faithful member and active leader of the First Christian Church in Muskegon. She loved spending time with her family and grandkids, especially at their “farm” in Benzonia, MI where many happy memories were made. Bev is survived by her loving children, Dan (Sue) Lassa, of Littleton, CO, Lou Ann (Ken) Bidelman, of Muskegon, MI; grandchildren, Emily (Cody) Gebolys, Michelle (Michael) Moselle, Christine (Mike) Horner; great-grandchildren, Josephine Moselle, Hendrik Moselle, Kaden Horner; several nieces and nephews and many close friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gerald Lassa; brothers, Ted Twining and Kenneth Twining. A MEMORIAL SERVICE for Bev will take place on Saturday, August 28, 2021 at 11:00 AM at First Christian Church (2755 Holton Rd.). Arrangements entrusted to The Sytsema Chapel of The Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 737 E. Apple Ave. Muskegon, MI 49442. Feel free to sign the family’s online guestbook, share a memory, and keep up to date on service information at www.sytsemafh.com. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the First Christian Church Memorial Fund, 2755 Holton Road, Muskegon, MI 49445.
