Beverly Jean Stehouwer's Obituary
Mrs. Beverly Jean Stehouwer, age 81, of Spring Lake passed away Monday, July 9, 2012. She was born March 22, 1931 in Grand Haven to George and Marion (Johnson) Koster and has lived in the Spring Lake area all of her life.
Beverly was a member of Spring Lake Christian Reformed Church all her life, and known for her gift of hospitality. She was active in many programs and groups at church and Grand Haven Christian School for many years. Bev was known for hosting many gatherings, building great memories for family, grandchildren, and friends. She enjoyed walking with friends.
On April 20, 1951, she married Benjamin Stehouwer in Spring Lake and he preceded her in death on December 4, 2011. She is survived by four sons: Larry (Sherry) Stehouwer of Kalamazoo, Dave (Karel) Stehouwer of Spring Lake, and Randy (Jodie) Stehouwer and Dan (Kally) Stehouwer, both of Vestaburg, MI. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren; 2 brothers, George Koster and Don (Joyce) Koster; 1 uncle, Charles (Lillian) Johnson; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, July 14, in the Spring Lake Christian Reformed Church with Pastors Drew Sweetman and Randy Stehouwer officiating. A luncheon and time of fellowship will follow the service at the church. Interment has occurred in Spring Lake Township Cemetery.
