Beverly Anna George's Obituary
Beverly Anna George, age 75, of Grand Haven passed away Saturday, February 27, 2010, at Mercy Hospital in Muskegon. She was born July 5, 1934 in Spring Lake to Harold and Gertrude (Heinz) George.
Mrs. George was a 1983 graduate of Grand Haven High School and was previously employed in the industrial field as a press operator. Beverly owned and operated her own sewing and tailoring business, Beverly Creations, in Grand Rapids for many years. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Grand Haven, a former member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Grand Rapids, and frequently visited United Lutheran Church on M-45. She also enjoyed music, dancing, reading, sewing, and decorating.
She is survived by 3 daughters: Sharon Roberts and Donna McCulloch of Grand Haven, and Terri (Terry) Keith of Gilmer, Texas; 5 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 1 sister, Evelyn Shafer of Grand Rapids; and 1 brother, Harold Joseph “Joe” George of Grand Rapids. She was preceded in death by her parents; 1 son, William D. Appel; 1 granddaughter, Shawn Marie McCulloch; and 1 grandson, William David Appel, Jr.
The service for Mrs. George will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at VanZantwick Bartels Kammeraad Funeral Home in Grand Haven with Rev. Gail Ellis officiating. Friends may meet the family one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions to the family are appreciated.
