Bill M. Garvey, Sr.'s Obituary
Bill M. Garvey Sr., age 86, passed away Monday, March 28, 2011 at his home. He was born on March 18, 1925 to Harley and Rita (McClain) Garvey and resided in the area his entire life. Bill was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in World War II, and worked for Bennett Pumps for 32 years before retiring. On December 24, 1974 he married the former Ardith Marie Strait, and she preceded him in death on May 25, 2007. SURVIVORS include 4 children, Bill Garvey, Jr. of Branch, MI, Dianna Terry of Norton Shores, Randy (Vicki) Garvey of Norton Shores, and Kim (Mark) Pulsipher of Rothbury; former wife and close friend, Mary Garvey; 4 step-children, Harold “Harry” (Helen) Doggett of Spring, TX, Cindy Long of Muskegon, Tina Farnquist of St. Clair Shores, MI and Angie (Richard) Pospisol of North Muskegon; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; brother, Alan (Shirley) Garvey of Whitehall; and sister, Judy Ferris of Muskegon. Bill was also preceded in death by his son, Thomas Garvey; daughter, Linda Schnieder; 7 brothers and 3 sisters. The FUNERAL SERVICE will be 11AM Friday at The Lee Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 6291 S. Harvey St. 231-798-1100. VISITATION with the family will be 1 hour prior to the service, from 10-11AM. Burial will take place in Norton Cemetery.
