Mr. Billy Jr Stewart's Obituary
Mr. Billy Jr Stewart, age 72, passed away at his home on Sunday, August 25, 2013. He was born in Muskegon on June 29, 1941 to Leo and Alice (Glassnor) Stewart. Bill retired this year from East Hills and Orchard Hills Athletic Clubs where he worked in maintenance for over 20 years. He had previously worked for 29 years at Oosterink Construction. Bill was an avid hunter and enjoyed throwing and competing in horseshoe tournaments. He enjoyed working on and building race cars for his sons and was known as a jack-of-all-trades, but most importantly, he was a loving husband and father. On June 28, 1965, Bill married the former Shirley E. Porter in Muskegon and she survives him along with their two sons, Todd Stewart and Tim Stewart; 10 grandchildren, Holly, Victoria, Lauren, Nicole, Rachel, Riley, Megan, Morgan, Amanda, and Nathan; 1 great-granddaughter, Addison; 4 sisters, Bonnie (Bruce) Connell, Irene (Dave) Kandelac, Betty (Doug) Davis, and Violet Snyder. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Leona Stratton and Alice Dale. SERVICES will be 11:00 AM Friday at, The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., 231-798-1100. VISITATION will be from 2-4 & 6-8 PM Thursday and from 9 – 11 AM Friday. Burial will be in Sullivan Township Cemetery. MEMORIALS can be made to the family for final expenses.
