Blanche May Hostad's Obituary
Blanche May Hostad, age 84 passed away Wednesday, July 18, 2012 in Muskegon. She was born in Conklin, MI on February 22, 1928 to Charles and Iva Marie Pierce. She married Charles Hostad on April 5, 1946, and worked at Michigan Plastics and Brunswick consecutively. In addition, she co-owned and operated Black Lake Stables from 1962 to 1986. For many years, Blanche and Chuck took motorcycle trips with friends, traveling around the United States. Blanche and Chuck moved to Wisconsin in 1989 for 3½ years to follow his work with Brunswick Corporation. Upon their return they built a new house on their Norton Shores property, spending their final years there entertaining their family and friends. Blanche loved to feed and care for birds she attracted to her home. She also enjoyed trips to the casino and attending auctions with her husband. Blanche was known for the charitable donations she made throughout her life to the Rescue Mission and other local food pantries and charities. Blanche had four daughters: Sharyn Parsons (deceased), Gayle (John) Muller, Rhonda (Eugene) Johnson, and Connie (Allen) Wahr; seven grandchildren: Kimberly (Rick) Rudicil, Kathi VonLinsowe, Kerri (Leigh) Ryan, Jamie (Jeff) Moore, Laura (Jacob) Steenhagen, Jeffrey Johnson, Marvin (Jenn) Muller III; thirteen great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren. Blanche has one surviving sister, Irma Russell of Muskegon. Private family services will be held. Share memories with the family online at www.sytsemafh.com.
