Blanche Irene Vanderstelt's Obituary
Mrs. Blanche Irene Vanderstelt, age 85, passed away on Saturday, November 29, 2025 in Muskegon, Michigan. She was born in Muskegon on March 13, 1940 to Carl and Mona (Mortenson) Lawton. Blanche was employed by Gospel Communications for over 20 years prior to her retirement. She was a member of First Free Methodist Church where she was active with Bible Study. Blanche enjoyed collecting dolls, scrapbooking, adult coloring books, and researching genealogy. She is survived by her children, Duane Vanderstelt, Pamela (Michael) Long, and Arnold Vanderstelt; four grandchildren, Alex Vanderstelt, Kilah (Brandon) VanWagoner, Ryan (Genie) Long, and Tony Long; and six great-grandchildren, Lucas, Kayleigh, Danielle, Henry, Sam, and Noa. Blanche was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Vanderstelt, in 1997; her fiancé, Eugene Broge, in 2011; her parents; and five siblings and their spouses, Mona Fox, Sara (Donald) Scharphorn, Charles (Alta) Lawton, Donald (Gwen) Lawton, and Linda (Dalen) Tobey. A MEMORIAL SERVICE for Blanche will be held 3:00 PM Friday, December 5, 2025 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444 with VISITATION one hour prior to her service.
