Mr. Bobby Brown Forrest's Obituary
Bob Forrest, age 84, passed away on December 15, 2015. Bob was born on April 24, 1931 to J.V. and Recie (Brown) Forrest. Bob served his country proudly in the US Navy during the Korean War. He worked for General Dynamics for 43 years before his retirement in 1996. Bob married his first wife, the former Barbara Hackey, in 1952 and she preceded him in death in 1960. In 1961 he married the former Loretta “Peg” Harjer and they enjoyed 54 years of marriage together. Bob and Peg were faithful members of Fifth Reformed Church. He was a skilled handyman and wood worker. He constructed kitchens, bathrooms and many other home improvement projects for family and others in the Muskegon area. He was a perfectionist with all of his handiwork. He also enjoyed target shooting and singing. Bob was a kind, humble, generous man of God. He had a creative, fun-loving sense of humor and will be deeply, deeply missed. He is survived by his wife, Loretta “Peg”; children, Michael (Mary C.) Forrest, Karen (Michael) Ayers, Lori (Bill) Vanderweele, and Kurt (Cathy) Forrest; 11 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; brother, Richard (Ruth) Forrest; and sister, Margaret Bell. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara; grandson, Austin Vanderweele; and brother, Jim. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held on Monday, December 21, 2015 at 12 noon at Fifth Reformed Church, 2330 Holton Rd. VISITATION will be held from 10:30 to the start of the service at the church.
