Bonnie M. DeJonge's Obituary
Mrs. Bonnie Mae DeJonge, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 21, 2021 just one month shy of her 100th birthday. She was born on December 20, 1921 to Alfred and Mary (Ralph) Johnson in Muskegon. Bonnie married Donald J. DeJonge on December 23, 1940 and he preceded her in death on December 2, 1992. Bonnie and Don relocated to Miami, FL where she worked as an assistant administrator at Covenant Palms for 36 years before retiring in 1987. They moved back to Muskegon after retirement. After Don passed away, Bonnie and her daughter, Barbara enjoyed taking RV trips and camping around the eastern States. Bonnie also enjoyed sewing and made many, many quilts. She was currently attending First Baptist Church and volunteered in her spare time. Bonnie is survived by her daughter, Barbara Bergst; grandson, Bret (Elisabeth) Bergst; great-granddaughter, Beatrice Bergst; and brother, Al Johnson. Along with her husband, Don, Bonnie was preceded in death by her siblings, Douglas, Ralph, Lyman, and Esther. A Family Memorial Service will take place in the summer.
