Bonnie Carolyn Potts' Obituary
Bonnie C. Potts, age 78, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, in Muskegon, MI. She was the 1st born out of 6 children to Charlie and Grace (Cole) Flowers on March 7, 1947, in Muskegon, MI. Bonnie married the love of her life, James H. Potts, on April 30, 1971, in Muskegon, MI. and spent 52 wonderful years with him before his passing in 2019. Out of this union they had a daughter, LaVese J. Potts, on 07/26th, 1973. Bonnie was very well known in the community, church and worked for over 30 years as a Legal Secretary. In her free time, she enjoyed watching Justice League/ action movies, soap operas, loved sending out daily affirmations & spiritual quotes to everyone. Loved going to her grandkids events, enjoyed being a mother, bonus mother, grandmother, bonus grandmother, sister, and friend with unconditional love & support. A TRUE definition of a Queen.
Bonnie was survived in death by: Daughter, LaVese (Bruce E. Hooper) J. Potts, Bonus Son, Trent (Theresa) K. Coleman, Grandson Jau’Marri K. Potts, Bonus Grandchildren, Trent Coleman Jr., Taia Coleman, Anneka Coleman, Aurbrien Coleman & Bonus Great Grandchild, Ezra Coleman. Siblings, Barbara (Donald) Taylor, Charlie B. (Debra) Flowers, Brett (Shelly) Flowers, Brother-in-law Wallace Coleman, Sister-in-law’s Landi (Benny) Walters, Gurdiarene Potts, Gerri Potts, furthermore, Neice’s, Nephew’s, bonus daughters, bonus grandchildren, cousin’s, family & friends.
Bonnie was preceded in death by: Husband, James H. Potts, Parents, Grace & Charlie Flowers, paternal Grandparents, Sister’s Beverly Coleman, Bonita Flowers, Brother Charlie Lawrence, Brother-in-Law’s, Ed Rose Potts, Nathaniel Potts, Haley Potts Sr., Sister-in-Law’s, Florence Childrey, & Eddy Mae Childrey.
A MEMORIAL SERVICE will take place at Noon Saturday, February 21, 2026, at New Hope Baptist Church, 560 Yuba St. Muskegon, MI. 49442 with a VISITATION from 11:00 AM – Noon. REPASS will take place at The Smith Ryerson Center, 650 Wood Street, Muskegon MI 49442 until 6:30 P.M.
