Mrs. Bonnie Jean Sprague's Obituary
Mrs. Bonnie Jean Sprague, age 80, passed away Wednesday afternoon, July 23, 2014 at the University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor. She was born September 28, 1933 in Escanaba, MI to Maynard and Beatrice (Wellman) Decent. Bonnie graduated from Muskegon Heights High School in 1951. On January 31, 1953 she married Darryl Sprague in Muskegon. Along with her husband, they established Sprague Auto Parts, which they owned and operated for over 20 years. She also loved volunteering and spending time with her grandchildren. SURVIVORS include her husband of 61 years, Darryl; 10 children: David Sprague, Thomas Sprague, Melinda (Steve) Ward all of Muskegon, Mary (Rick) Steinman of Norton Shores, Michele Nedervelt of Kalamazoo, Darryl Sprague of Norton Shores, Monica (Jim) Fichtel of Fruitport, Todd (Pam) Sprague of Whitehall, Tammy Smith of Muskegon, Matthew (Michelle) Sprague of Twin Lake; 27 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson; 2 sisters: Sandra J. Carlson of Norton Shores, Leah (John) Wood of Colorado; 2 brothers: Leland (Sharon) Decent of Texas, Alan (Ann) Decent of Florida; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and 2 step-brothers: Jerry and Marvin Arnold. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held 3:00 PM Monday, July 28, 2014 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., (231) 798-1100, with Pastor Michael Goers officiating. VISITATION with the family will be one hour prior to the service. A luncheon will be served at 5:00 PM Monday at the VFW Post 8846, 1061 Witham Rd.MEMORIALS to the American Cancer Society will be appreciated.
