Bonnie Rae Vanderlaan's Obituary
Mrs. Bonnie Rae Vanderlaan, age 80, passed away Tuesday, September 6, 2022 in North Muskegon. She was born in Traverse City, Michigan on September 7, 1941 to Loren and Geraldine (Frazier) Baker. On May 29, 1993, Bonnie married Randy Vanderlaan in Whitehall and he preceded her in death on September 23, 2010. Bonnie was retired from Muskegon Piston Ring. She was the founder of a Multiple Sclerosis Support Group in Whitehall where she met many friends and enjoyed helping others. Bonnie enjoyed gardening (and pulling weeds even more), collecting antiques, and she adored her pets. She was Native American from the Sioux Tribe and was proud of her heritage. She is survived by her children, Stacey Thompson (Bob Plichta), Kimberly Thompson, Nan Hekkema, James Thompson, Tom (Kristy) Thompson; beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and her sister, Michelle Baetsle. In addition to her husband, Randy, Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents and four siblings.
