Brenda Sue Cantu's Obituary
Brenda Sue Cantu, age 50, passed away unexpectedly at home on Tuesday, January 13, 2026 in Muskegon, Michigan. She was born in Muskegon on July 11, 1975 to Allen and Sandra (Stuhan) Burkall. Brenda was a graduate of Orchard View High School and worked as a phlebotomist at Hackley Hospital prior to her medical retirement. She enjoyed gardening and thrifting, but above all, she loved spending time with her family. She especially cherished caring for her grandchildren and treasured every moment with them. She is survived by her three children, Joseph “Joey” Cantu, Lauren Cantu, and Alex Cantu; two grandchildren, Nathaniel Smith and Layla Smith; brother, Allen (Marshall Lohr) Burkall; sister, Carolyn (Brian) Bean; and her therapeutic cat, Randy. She was preceded in death by her parents and dear friends, Sheria McCloud and Preston Brady.
