Dr. Brenda Sue Clark EdD's Obituary
Dr. Brenda Sue Clark, EdD, age 59, passed away Sunday, October 13, 2019, in Ann Arbor. Brenda was born June 30, 1960 to Peter and Marjorie (Plescher) Heykoop in Muskegon, and lived most of her life here. Brenda was a dedicated wife, mom, sister, daughter, aunt, friend, and educator who touched and changed countless lives with her selflessness, bright smile, optimism, and devotion to education. She loved spending time with her family, especially at Burt Lake, as well as laughing, traveling, reading, and cooking. She was the President and CEO of the MBA Research and Curriculum Center in Columbus, OH, and taught at Jenison High School for thirty-four years. Brenda was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Spring Lake. On August 27, 1983 she married David W. Clark, and he survives her along with 4 children: Robert Clark II, Courtney (Ben) Clark, Tyler Ranshaw, and Faith Clark; grand-puppies: Seamus and Nash; siblings: James (Kris) Heykoop, Peter (Chris) Heykoop, Barbara Heykoop, Joseph (Robin) Heykoop; brother-in-law: Jim Brinn. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her beloved older sister Sandy Brinn. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, October 21, 2019, at 1:00 PM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Spring Lake. Visitation at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral and Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444 will be Sunday, October 20, from 4-7 PM. Contributions in Brenda’s memory may be made to David Clark for Faith’s and Tyler’s college funds.
