Brent I. Beckstrom's Obituary
Brent Irving Beckstrom, age 69, loving husband, father, and grandfather, passed away at home on Saturday, May 12, 2018. He was born June 15, 1948 in Muskegon to F. Irving and Gertrude (Gelderloos) Beckstrom and was a lifelong resident of the area. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. On May 22, 1971, he married the love of his life, the former Diane Hosko, in Muskegon. Brent retired from Austin Westran/Kysor Industrial Corporation in 2010. He was a very giving person and an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed following the Detroit Tigers and Lions and college football. Brent was a member of the Vikings and attended Trinity Baptist Church. He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Diane; daughter, Brooke Thorns; son, Erik (Jamie) Beckstrom; 5 grandchildren: Taylor, Reese, Liam, Jaxon, and Aristyn; brother, Knute (Mary) Beckstrom of Fort Worth, TX; sister, Shirlyn (David) Hasselman; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. VISITATION with the family will start at 11:00 AM on Thursday, May 17, 2018 at Trinity Baptist Church (4381 South Sheridan Dr., Muskegon, 49444) followed by a MEMORIAL SERVICE at 12 Noon officiated by Pastor Chris Handzel. In lieu of flowers, donations to Trinity Baptist Church or the Harbor Hospice Foundation will be appreciated.
