You know I love you, have always loved you and will always love you. You were my first and my only true love and you will forever hold a special place in my heart. My thoughts and prayers go out to your family and friends... I know that I haven't seen you in a VERY long time... To hear this news completely shocked me! I am never ready to say goodbye... My heart had ached for my entire family since I heard what had happen. I want to share what I will miss most, but will hold forever in my heart.
Brett and I spent hours together as kids, camping out in the back yard, getting our boom boxes in sync with the same song, going to the beach with the family to hang out all day swim, laugh, run thru the dunes. Hotdogs (coney style)and chocolate milkshakes every Friday with Brandon and Nick. As we became teenagers we would drive around for hours, I once drove his car to Grand Haven with the emergency brake on the entire way! I could go on for pages of memories. I will never be ready to say goodbye,although I know you are in a better place at peace with Grandpa.
You will always be missed.

To Karen and Family--My heart has been so heavy with sadness after learning of your loss. As my Mother always said "A parent should never have to lose a child" but we cannot control our destiny. I am so blessed by the times Brett and I spent together, I got to know a whole other side of him. Since I heard about his passing away my heart has been aching with saddness. I keep thinking about the time Brett and I made cabbage soup for dieting, we gagged every time we took a bite and laughed. Sorry Uncle Larry for wasting your money on the ingredients. Dear Karen & Brandon

I will never forget Brett.
I have many good memories of a fine young man.
How much he loved stir-fry with soy sauce, or sneaking pepperonis out of the refrigerator.
I remember all the fun times we had going to the Harbor Theatre and how the movies always seemed so much better with you and the boys.
I am so terribly sorry.
At times like this, I remember what a preacher said about a boat trip.
People on this side are sad and waving goodbye, but on the other side of the voyage, are people waiting to welcome someone home.
