Brexley Joelle Looman's Obituary
Infant Brexley Joelle Looman, age 4 months, passed away on Saturday May 25, 2019 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Brexley was born on January 15, 2019 in Grand Rapids to Ashley Chase and Troy Looman. She was born with Cornelia De Lange Syndrome and underwent heart surgery at one week old, and intestinal/bowel surgery shortly after. Brexley was a courageous fighter, but ultimately passed after catching a virus that her little body couldn’t fight off. Although Brexley’s time on this earth was all too short, she managed to capture the hearts of her loving family, and all the attentive doctors, nurses, and staff that cared for her at Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital. She loved being the center of attention. Brexley was very attentive, and especially enjoyed watching her mobile and kicking her feet. Brexley will be deeply missed by her loving parents, Ashley Chase and Troy Looman; grandparents, Jeff and Cindy Looman and Don and Patty Johnson; aunts and uncles, Caitlin Johnson, DJ Johnson, Ashley (Chris) Deephouse and Tabitha Looman; and many other loving family members. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., 231-798-1100 with Rev. John Huyser officiating. VISITATION with her family will be one hour prior to her service. Brexley’s family would like those in attendance to wear purple, the awareness color for Cornelia De Lange Syndrome. MEMORIALS in memory of Brexley may be directed to the Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital NICU. You may sign her online guestbook at www.sytsemafh.com
