Bruce A. Leatherman's Obituary
Bruce Aron Leatherman, age 61, passed away Thursday evening, May 21, 2015, as the result of an automobile accident in Muskegon. He was a life resident of the area, born October 22, 1953 to Roswel “Stub” and Beverly (Coverly) Leatherman. Bruce was a graduate of Western Michigan Christian High School and was a member of Fellowship Reformed Church. He currently was a Maintenance Man for Orchard View School System and also works with his brother, Ron at Leatherman Builders, Inc. Bruce will be remembered for being a loving husband, father and grandfather; and a “giver” to family and friends. He loved to build and will be very missed. On July 5, 1974, he married the former Derita Singleton and she survives him along with their 3 children, Nathan and his wife Sarah Leatherman and their children Matthew A., Kaitlyn and Timothy of Muskegon; Nicolas and his wife Emily Leatherman of St. Paul, MN; Brittany and her husband Benjamin Wickman of Hudsonville, MI and their daughter, Ellie, arriving in August. Bruce is also survived by his mother, Beverly Leatherman; 2 brothers, Ron (Sue) Leatherman; Paul (Rita) Leatherman and by 3 sisters, Sharon Wentland, Nancy (Allan) Bowles and Linda (John) Raymond.; his sister-in-law, Mary Leatherman and by many friends , family and loved ones. He was preceded in death by his son, Matthew E.; his father, Stub and brother, Dan. A CELEBRATION OF BRUCE’S LIFE will be held 5:00 PM Thursday, May 28, 2015 at Fellowship Reformed Church, 4200 E. Apple Avenue with his former Pastor and friend, Jerry Worrel, officiating. VISITATION with Bruce’s family will be from 4-5:00 PM, prior to the service at Fellowship Church.
