Bruce H. Johnson's Obituary
Bruce H. Johnson, loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather went to be with his Savior on April 13, 2021. Bruce was born on April 24, 1931 in Big Rapids, Michigan. He graduated from White Cloud High School and attended the Elgin Watch Repair School in Elgin, Illinois. He served in the Air Force in Germany where he met his wife Katharina Proebst and married in 1954. They were blessed with five children, Maria (Bill) Hood, John (Sue) Johnson, Jane (Tony) Helsen, Mark (Kathy) Johnson, and Jim (Jeanine) Johnson; seven grandchildren, Bryan Johnson, Sara (Aaron) Elsner, Nic (Samara) Johnson, Megan (Jake) Hamilton, Kristin (Brian) Grycki, Adam (Mallory) Johnson, and Alyssa (Luke) Walburg; ten great-grandchildren, Kyna, Amelia, Grace, Ariana, Keegan, Cora, Max, Maggie, Charlotte, and Ozzy. Bruce worked for Sealed Power, British Petroleum and Weyburn-Bartel for the majority of his career as a Mechanical Engineer. He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, all of his children, his sister, Ruth (Roger) Gravengood, as well as many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Judith Johnson of White Cloud; brother, Dave; and sister-in-law, Pat. Arrangements have been for cremation and no services will be held. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Bruce’s honor to Harbor Hospice of Muskegon. The family would like to thank the staff of Mercy Hospital as well as Harbor Hospice for the wonderful care Bruce received. God bless care workers.
