Mr. Bruce Macdonald, of Traverse City, formerly of Spring Lake passed away Saturday, March 23, 2019 at the age of 86. He was born in 1932 in Muskegon, the third child of David A. Macdonald and Marian M. Bird (nee’ Ashley). Mr. Ma Read Obituary

When I was an adolescent Bruce was like a second father to me. He was extraordinarily generous and intelligent and brought me on numerous family adventures with his sons. He provided many of the most memorable experiences of my youth, a journey to New York City complete with my first pastrami sandwich, regular excursions to Fortino's for giant pickles, rides in the back of his pickup with his son Luke dangling our legs off the tailgate, and talking about articles in Scientific American. Bruce was a wonderful person, thoughtful, kind, funny, and enjoyably eccentric. Thank you for being a part of my life Mr. Macdonald. You will be deeply missed.
Bruce was an active and valued member of Liberty Woods Senior Housing Co-Op for many years. His thoughtful and generous efforts were much appreciated.
We miss Bruce and his gentle manner.
